2025 Assessment FAQ

2025 RLLL Baseball and Softball Assessment FAQs:

We will be hosting two events for assessments. All Baseball Division AAA and above and Softball Division 10U and above are draftable ages/teams. Assessments are hosted only on January 18th, 2025, and January 19th, 2025. Any player wishing to be eligible for the player draft AND consideration for All-Stars MUST attend one of two assessment dates.

Q: What day are the Assessments?

A: Saturday, January 18th and Make-up only on Sunday, January 19th.

Q: Where do Assessments take place?

A: Rio Linda High School Baseball/Softball Complex 6309 Dry Creek Road Rio Linda, CA 95673

Q: What time are Assessments?

A: Please view the times below for both baseball and softball:

Q: Why does my child need to attend assessments?

A: Assessments allow Managers to assess players prior to draft day. To be considered to play “up” or beyond the league age restrictive division, players must attend assessments. It also fulfills the All-Star Requirement.

Q: What happens if my child doesn't attend assessments?

Players not at Assessments will be required to be automatically placed on the next available team in their division at the end of the draft and will not be eligible for All-Stars.

Q: What documents are required?

A: All residency (School Enrollment Form and or Proof of Residency Docs) and Proof of Age (Birth Certificate) are due PRIOR to assessments. Please upload to your Sports Connect account. Here is the link to the school enrollment form (preferred by RLLL if your student attends school in our boundaries).

Q: How can I guarantee I get the Manager/Coach I want for my player?

A: RLLL and team/division managers are unable to guarantee the assigned coaches. The draft is for managers only, coaches are not yet determined until the draft and trades have been completed.

Q: How can I guarantee that two or more of my children are on the same team?

A: RLLL and team/division managers are unable to guarantee the draft of siblings. You can designate them as such, when registering your players. However, in a draft situation, managers and RLLL are not required to draft siblings to the same team, it is up to the manager to draft their team. By attending assessments, parents understand that any division AAA and above or 10U and above, siblings may or may not be drafted to the same team.

Q: What happens at assessments?

A: Players are sent through various stations to test/view their abilities in the following categories:

●     Hitting/Swinging a bat, and attitude regarding strikes, pitching errors, etc.

●     Throwing/Catching - both short and long distance

●     Fielding - both grounders and pop-fly balls

Q: Who do I contact with questions?

A: If there are extenuating circumstances before the teams are formed email with the details to be considered, or there are any questions, please reach out to the player agent below.
