All volunteers of the league are required by state and federal law to complete certain training designed to keep our youth athletes safe. The following information and training classes are mandatory for board members, team staff (managers, coaches, etc.) and umpires. Although parents are not required to take the classes, the league encourages you to do so. Parents are required to review the awareness handouts and sign the acknowledgement form found on the Parent & Athlete Training page. 

Abuse Awareness Training (Required for all Volunteers of the League)

All volunteers of a local league are now mandated reporters and could face criminal charges if the league chooses to ignore, or not report to the proper authorities, any witnessed act of child abuse, including sexual abuse, within 24 hours. All volunteers must take the following free training and submit their completion certificate to the safety officer at safety@riolindall.com (click on the underlined text)

Abuse Awareness for Adults Training (You will be required to register on the USA Baseball website and go through the purchase process before the class will be available under your profile, click the My Profile link at the top of the page after you check out.)

Abuse Awareness for Minors Training is also available for youth athletes, while it is recommended to help youth understand abuse, it is not a requirement.

Concussions in Youth Athletes Training (Required for all Volunteers of the League)

On a yearly basis, the youth sports organization shall offer concussion and head injury education, or related educational materials or both, to each coach and administrator of the youth sports organization.  Each coach and administrator shall be required to successfully complete the concussion and head injury education offered at least once, either online or in person, before supervising an athlete in an activity of the youth sports organization.  Sudden Cardiac Arrest Training (Required for all Volunteers of the League)

On a yearly basis, the youth sports organization shall offer Sudden Cardiac Arrest Training to each coach and administrator of the youth sports organization.  Each coach and administrator shall be required to successfully complete the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Training offered at least once, either online or in person, before supervising an athlete in an activity of the youth sports organization.
